Berry Chia Jam - Family Recipe

We're happy to share with you our flavorful, no sugar, no gelatin berry chia jam family recipe! This is a versatile staple in our household which we love adding to toast, scones, crackers, yogurt, cottage cheese, and even on top of ice cream. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz frozen berries (mixed berries or blueberries are our preference)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 2.5 tbsp chia seeds
  • Small pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Add fruit and sweetener to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Cook for 8-10 minutes until fruit breaks down and releases liquid, using a spatula to break down fruit to a desired texture.
  3. Add chia seeds and a small pinch of salt and stir until incorporated. Keep on heat 2-3 additional minutes until texture starts to thicken.
  4. Remove from heat, let cool, and place in an airtight container to store in the refrigerator. (Keeps for 1-2 weeks, but if you're family is anything like ours, it'll be gone before then!)
